Egypt eased to the African Cup of Nations quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory over Mozambique in Benguela on Saturday.

An own-goal from former Ismaili defender Dario Khan and a superb strike from the on-fire Mohamed Nagi 'Geddo' sealed the victory for the defending champs.

Egypt are guaranteed top spot in Group C with six points from two games, while Mozambique are bottom with a single point.

Hassan Shehata replaced holding midfielder Hossam Ghaly with playmaker Shikabala to increase firepower, while no other changes have been made to the side that beat Nigeria.

Even First Half

Surprisingly, the opening half-hour was evenly-balanced, with Mozambique looking more organized than their high-profile opponents.

Egypt's first shot on target came in the 25th minute when Shikabala's low effort forced a good save from Mozambique keeper Rafael Kapango.

Three minutes later, Shikabala drilled in an inviting ball that beat the keeper, but found no player with a red shirt to tap in.

Despite the slight liveliness, Mozambique's basketball-style defense kept on denying Egypt any space in the final third.

The best chance of the half though came in the 48th minute when the Egypt-based Kapango thwarted Emad Meteb's powerful shot from 18 yards.

Early Favor and Geddo Magic

Egypt started the second half with a flyer when Ahmed Fathi's powerful cross was deflected by Khan into his own net two minutes after the break.

Shehata immediately brought on attacking winger Ahmed Al-Mohammadi for Hani Saied in an attempt to fortify the lead.

But despite the early goal and the offensive substitution, Egypt still looked nowhere near their coherent performance against Nigeria in the first game.

Shehata tried more options upfront as Ahmed Eid came on for the ineffective Mohamed Zidan, who was far from satisfied to be off, before Geddo replaced Shikabala.

It was Geddo who added some glamour to the victory, maintaining the staggering start to his international career with a third goal in as many games.

The Ittihad forward received the ball from Ahmed Hassan with his back to goal, turned it to his left foot and smashed in a spectacular volley into the top-left corner nine minutes from the end.

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

any news about your visa, hot guy??

I actually went to visit in hopes of going to the embassy myself and seeing if it would help, but they would not let me inside to discuss the case. The case was in final review until about January 6th and then this week when I emailed they wrote back and said that the case is now in mandatory administrative review so I really dont know what to think anymore. I am praying for the best.

Well I am assuming that is the same thing administrative processing. I emailed them this weekend and I am waiting on a reply to find out if there are any updates. Hopefully we will both have our visas soon isa.

That's exactly what they told me when i called the embassy last week .

The woman there was very nice and friendly to me .she says its just matter of time and i will get the visa sooner or later .

I asked her if they might deny me after all of that waiting .she says no .its not denial or approval level now .we are done with the approval and denial level and its just AP she says .

She told me that a new AP was required after they got my fiancee's interview result .and they started that new AP on Jan 5 and for sure no one knows when they will be done with it .

disconnection and Nancy my fingers crossed for both of you and for my self that's for sure LOL.

Inshaallah we all will hear good news soon .we just need to hang in there .

Good luck and my best wishes for you all .

The different between Administrative process and the administrative review :-

Administrative Review: Is when your case is being looked at more closely for accuracy and to make sure all security name and fingerprint checks have cleared and your visa can be adjudicated.

Administrative Processing: Means once you have interviewed it is in security checks for any of these situations: you have had a name hit in one of the many data bases, background checks for fraud, or has missing and incomplete information that must be submitted and the rechecked. Processing is more in depth and than the review process and there is no time limit for this processing to complete. Administrative processing can last a few days or months and in some cases it has endured for years.

Good luck and my best wishes for you .
