1) Does the 2 Affidavits from friends have to be notarized?

2) Does the letter from my mom stating that me and my wife are living at the same address have to be notarized?

3) Can I just use my original Time Warner letters and bills instead of copies?.

Thank you!

1. Yes, if they are providing "sworn" statements.

2. Is this more evidence for the ROC? - If yes, then get it notarized. (However, a lease/mortgage is better to show joint occupancy)

3. Always submit copies, unless specifically asked for originals. (what happens if they lose the originals, you will have nothing to show)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

1 and 2 are only "no" if they provide "affirmed" affidavits.

AFFIDAVIT: A voluntary declaration of facts, written down and sworn to or affirmed by the declarant ("affiant") before a Notary Public or other officer having the authority to administer an oath.

AFFIRMATION: The act of affirming the truth of a document, not an oath. "I solemnly affirm and declare the foregoing to be a true statement." Note that an affidavit may appear in two forms: a sworn affidavit with oath, or an affirmed affidavit with affirmation.

Each has the same legal import
