Why you say that? You think weath builds better kids? Better materials? Better efforts?

I don't think it builds better kids, but it does better school facilities. Also, there is often more parental involvement, which could mean more elaborate & pretty projects. At one school in the suburbs, this girl's mother is a rocket scientist. Her science experiment was WAAAAAY above the rest in terms of age level. It was obvious, though, that her parents helped her a LOT, which hurt her score in that judging category (own efforts).

Where I judged today was a private, all-girls' school (which I didn't know until I got there). Most of the science fair judges were parents of children from other grades.

My first car was a '93 Dodge Intrepid. I had it until the transmission quit in 2004. Then I bought a '02 Honda Accord. I'll drive it until it stops working.

lobster patty!

Dang. I want one. The Caribbean restaurants here have beef & chicken, but not shrimp or lobster patties.

Yardies, here's my question of the day (mostly directed at the ladies)....

Do your guys help you out at home? Do they take the iniative themselves or do you have to ask? What do you do if they did do something but it wasn't quite right & you need to do it again?

Steven cooks & he used to clean at least once a week. Now that we have the housekeeper coming back every week, he doesn't. I don't care where people put stuff. Ever since I first had the housekeeper, I've had to search for things.

The one thing I didn't like was that Steven would put ALL the clothes in the hamper, even if they weren't dirty. I know you may ask why they weren't hung back up, but I'm not that neat. I've asked him not to worry about laundry when he cleans. He does a great job with the kitchen, bedroom, & floors, though.

We do the general cleaning of the other rooms, but for our own room I do me, he does him. When we do laundry he helps me because I usually have more stuff than him. When I see stuff outta place in the kitchen, I just put it back where I feel it belongs. Don't nag Ells just put it where you need it to be. My peeve is (and don't laugh yall) Im the shortest one in my house so my kids and Steve tend to put things high up so I can reach lmao... I get so wound up, I use a spatula to knock it down so I can catch it. One of there smart rasses always says "you shouldve told me, I would have gotten it for you..." Well who the hamskin told you to put it up so dayum high!!! lol

Ok Tee you are killing me softly with HAMSKIN

don't worry girl.. at least it gives you a breather b4 the next episode.. thats a hard age even w/out the added drama of a new stepdad

i was just telling shems things are SLOWLY getting better on my side now.. i don't feel so torn anymore..

they are talking more and making an effort more (meaning the girls and roger)

That is great Mamma, doesn't it feel good when things come together!

You ain't lying about the breather before next episode oh I forgot there was actually one about a week and a half ago, but I am not letting them stress me like before

Great News!!!!

Den's Visa is ready for pick up! Yayyyyy!:dance::dance:

mi tell yuh, it soon come I am so happy for you Sis, Den's is on his way! Please tell him to where the gold suit on his arrival as a favor to Philly he is sure to get special treatment  sike I'm a fool

Boy, I've been 'communicating' mi rass off! I tell him the first couple times how I'd like it done differently in a nice tone....it never seems like he hears me. After a while, it doesn't come out so nice anymore. And then to be told I've never said anything before. Can you say, 'HOTTER THAN FISH GREASE'??

LOL Ells, ruh roh, be patient since you already knoa how him tan yuh must work wid it and get him to work with you on what both of you need as far as housework... just remember he is your partner and you need to work together.

Yay, Dens Wifey! The waiting for that Visa is over.

lol.. i guess my kitchen is small cuz i dont' have THAT many optios of where stuff can go LOL..

I was thinking that, too, then I remembered one incident: I went into the silverware drawer and found, amidst the butter knives, the letter opener. I wanted to DIE laughing, but Steven was right there, so I couldn't (he's VERY sensitive). I merely asked, "Do you know what this is?" and held up the letter opener. He said yes. But later admitted that he didn't. I was reminded of the movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy."

i told him later.. babes, what happened in there, i don't like to speak on ur behalf, but you were speechless in there???.. him say.. baby..they have cameras, SOMEBODY know i gave $300, mi nuh stress bout such tings..

:wacko: and what bout the $5?????

dat small tings babes, small tings. i could let that slide

:bonk::bonk:

While having to look for things doesn't bother me at all, THIS would a lot for 2 reasons 1) I strongly prefer a man to speak for himself with confidence, and 2) don't waste our money!

And, were the projects nicer?? Any erupting volcanoes?? :star:

I judged projects in the "Plants" category. They were all boring: Will lima beans grow better if you add water, coke, or sprite? Which brand of plant food will cause them to grow better? Will they grow better outside, on a windowsill, or in a dark closet? Will they grow better if exposed to red, green, black, or white light? What liquid will most affect a rose's color?

I should've picked the physics category for more interesting ones.

DAMN.....was it owned by an old lady? That's GREAT mileage.

When I bought my 72 VW bug in 88, it had 12000 miles on it - The woman was a retired school teacher who drove it to church, the grocery store, and home - her sister was my Gram's neighbor, and she sold it to me for $500 - and actually asked if we thought that was too much!

We plan on him being here Tuesday, February 2! We got some events lined up beginning next Friday...lol!:dance::dance:

Congrats Dens, so happy!

Glad to hear the medicals went well today!

Fire de a Mus Mus tail, him tink a cool breeze
