Like I said, I don't consider them experts and don't feel the need to defend them. Whether or not these guys are scum has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not the the climate is getting warmer.

This is like finding 15 people who claim the earth is round and demonstrating that they are scum and don't have a scientific background.

But the earth still may be round.

You are underestimating the effectiveness of the Manufactured Doubt Industry's influence on public perception. The Tobacco Industry didn't spend millions of dollars on PR campaign to spread doubt about the harmful effects of cigarette smoke if it had been effective for so long. However, they weren't able to overcome the mountain of evidence that cigarette smoke was harmful...and of course it helped when some whistle-blowers revealed to the public the Tobacco Industry's own findings that they had purposely kept from the public.

Most of the guys are industry shills who are trying their darndest to fight any policies that might hamper the industry's who pay them.

You're right. It has nothing to do with the science of Global Warming yet oddly enough, these shills are pimping climate science as "experts." Yeah, the Tobacco Industry also had their "experts" pushing the same propaganda and pretending it to be science.

Tobacco doesn't really benefit anyone except the people who sell it. The government increased cigarette taxes and cut back on the places you can smoke but most people simply quit. There wasn't an outright ban on cigarettes. The whistle blowers had little to do with decreased consumption at least since the official government warnings on smokes in 1971.

The scare tactics by global warmies to trash any development outside of wind or solar is a farce. The idea of carbon taxes will simply increase the shift the decreasing number of industries to countries that aren't going to comply with international agreements. It won't decrease GHG but nobody cares about that glaring fact.
