Not sure where this could go as it seems to affect all immigration medicals being done.

As of January panel physicians are no longer required to do teh hiv blood test and you are no longer required to have the waiver either. I wonder if this will actually make the price of the medicals go down at all? i know wishful thinking on my part.

Here is the direct link for the new ruling:

http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/hiv-guidance-panel-civil.htm

here is an exerpt:

Pursuant to this final rule, beginning January 4, 2010, panel physicians and civil surgeons should

* No longer test for HIV infection.

* Put a line through the spaces for HIV test results on the DS 2053/2054 and I-693 forms, respectively, until those forms are amended.

* Record HIV infection disclosed by an applicant as a Class B Other condition on the DS 2053/2054 and I-693, respectively.

$350? That'd be quite the jump if they were planning to hike up the fees, though I'm wondering where you've found that?

Never mind, I've googled it, and if allowed through... that's complete BS. I can't imagine it'll be the only increase, though. That is a very scary thought.

Hi Everyone,

Good to know about the HIV testing...lol..though 3 years too late for me...

Lol..If I had known, it would have saved me a lot of money then....oh well....

Oh and what's even funnier..is that since I've been here in the USA...I've gotten tested for HIV so many times....

Once for immigration (which I had to pay for out of my own pocket, since I had no insurance back then).....

And four times for pregnancy, as required by law here in NYS (which was free....since I had insurance..)....

If only I had the immigration had done the testing for free....sigh.........perhaps I should have just been pregnant then (just kidding)...lol....

Oh well..the results five times around are clear..I don't have HIV!!!!!...Quit testing me...lol...

As for Immigration Fees..They always go up..For no apparent reason!

When I started out on my journey in 2006...

ROC fees were $180..And then when it was my turn in 2008....$545...

Citizenship fees were $440..And when it was my turn in 2009...$675....

And yet the USCIS still continues to be incompetent and give bad service at times...

What justifies these increases and bad service and delays? I don't know...

It doesn't seem fair at all! Inflation doesn't justify it..Service quality doesn't justify it

Then what does?....

Lol..My journey is over, and I'm still left paying the "USCIS debt"!...

We're not made of money! And in the end, we just all want to be in the USA with our loved ones...Can't they understand this??......Sigh....
