My immigration visa was approved this morning and will get it tomorrow afternoon. There is job offer for me. My US employer wants me to work as soon as possible. You have to get your social security number before you can start work. If you checked off that box on the application form, you should have it after a couple of weeks after you arrive in the US. If not, just go to the SSA office to see if they can track it down or get you a number.

Then you can start work.

I would ask them if they are willing to wait for you to get your SSN number.... You could start working and just give them the SSN info when you get it.... some places are willing to do this but I would ask and find out...
