Yes, lawyers can notorize papers. They may charge you for it though.

I go to my bank, it is part of our member services. We are allowed free notarization services. You should both check with your bank. If you USC doesn't have this service, she can do a yellow pages search for Notary Services and should be able to find someone. It is just a method for a certified person to validate who you are...any one who want to can become a notary by doing simple training and paying a fee, so there are many in each US city available. try a post office, or even the dmv..or any public office..there should be a notary in any of those places

Briefly, you need to order a police certificate, the long form of your birth certificate, and then then to fill out all the DS forms. The US citizen needs to get a notarized letter stating that they still intend to marry you since it has been >4 months since your NOA2 date. This shouldn't be very expensive to do. The USC also needs to get together the affidavit of support paperwork.
