Long story short, I had a full medical done in the US that is dated January 3rd 2009, as it had been over a year since the required medical in my home country. Unfortunately the person who was going to sponsor me backed out, and left us unable to file for AOS until now. Everything else is fine paperwork wise, but we're concerned that as my latest medical will be over a year old when we file, USCIS won't accept it.

So my question is basically what do we do? I feel like it may just be a case of having the same civil surgeon transcribe her own paperwork again so it has a current date on it, but I'm not sure. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I do believe that you will need a complete medical again. I don't think they are "allowed" or even "would" just copy your last medical. With all the RFE's for medicals lately I wouldn't even bother trying to get around the medical, just get it done again. Good luck.

You'll definitely need a whole new medical, per the guides and the i693 instructions: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos

"Note: The results of the medical examination are generally valid for only 12 months. Applicants should schedule the medical examination as close as possible to the time they file for adjustment of status, but provide for sufficient time for the performance of laboratory testing or additional testing required under CDC's Technical Instructions."

They sound slightly wishy-washy on the 12 months, but my guess is that they will actually cut off the medical validity at 12 months. They've been sticklers about medicals lately, as the PP said.

You can find a civil surgeon to do your medical by going to this USCIS website: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=CIV.

Call around to different CS's, as the prices seem to vary.

By the way, be sure the non-USC does not leave the country before the AOS is approved. The links in my sig block will explain why.

Good luck!
