What 'atheist' values does the regime promote that are detrimental to the rest of the world though? It's like somehow being an atheist is synonimous with being a dictator - er, no.

Put it another way, being an atheist isn't a singular philosophy or ideology in and of itself. Every atheist has their own set of values. Being a dictatorship is not something that 'atheism' promotes.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

sweetie, i think most people, without running to the internet to look up the fine differences in dictators of the past, would off the top of their head, suggest that "being an atheist is synonymous with being a dictator." most people aren't talking about singular philosophy, ideology and whatnot when talking about this sort of stuff at the street level. though street level perceptions are not always good, they are a way of life and often what rules the day especially for things of little importance (such as this).

So is Cuba's... ask me how that one works in reality

i'm asking.

I don't see what difference it makes whether the government of a country endorses a particular religion or not.

There aren't many places in the world where religion is totally prohibited in favor of atheism. Certainly there is suppression in some dictatorships where ideologies come into conflict, but stamp it out entirely? Doubtful.
