It seems that politicians can pass all the laws they want and some people will still get behind the wheel when they shouldn't. Maybe someday technology will be good enough that it will prevent anyone under the influence from starting the vehicle. Wishful thinking I suppose but who knows, maybe!

Not strict enough and too convoluted. Here is how it should work. You get caught drunk driving FIRST TIME, you go to jail for ONE YEAR.

I couldn't possibly care less if adults drink themselves to death, they are adults and have that right, but keep your drunken @ss OFF the road. Yes, I know they woud lose their jobs, go bankrupt, yada, yada...I do not care! Don't drink and drive. Very simple to avoid. Only when people are scared to death of the penalty will this nonsense stop.

How about you get your license AND CAR taken away, go to AA for one year and get urine tests throughout? Jail will be of no help for an alcoholic.
