Oh I'm on tenterhooks, hoping that Traci & Andrew get good news!! I thought jnurse was approved quite a while ago, how come it's only just shown up? JustJ, what news do you have?

I took a break from VJ, calling DOS and even thinking about my visa, and it certainly felt good! Back to reality now, because although we have to get on with living our lives, it is impossible to completely ignore it when it, or the lack of it, has such an enormous impact on our lives. Wishing everyone here all the best (F)

Was beginning to think we would never see our case under completed - came as a total shock! Now we wait for the outcome  Trying to keep busy all day and not think too much about it  Hoping we will finally get a break and get some good news for a change

It's nice to hear from you again treehugger - hope this latest round of approvals is a sign that things are going to start moving positively for all.

Take care,

Traci x

Gosh it must be hard, I don't know how you all cope!! Thanks, I hope so too...in fact Whatznext, whose husband had his interview exactly two years ago, has just had news of movement on their case, so perhaps it being the summer all those lovely people working on our cases are in a good mood and would like to spread the love around :P

are

A P P R O V E D

As of 8:15am GMT (UK Time)

Received a phone call from the London US Embassy at 8:15am telling me that I have been approved, after our case was completed on the 12th July 2010 (4 days later), I was told that I just need to resubmit a new Police Certificate and go and get another (3rd) medical done, then once the Police Certificate arrives, I have to send this in by the Embassy Courier (Tel: 0871 562 6666) along with my passport, the Medical results will be sent direct from the doctors within 4 working days from my appointment (10:30am Thursday 22nd July 2010).

So if everything works to plan, by the end of July, the US London Embassy will have everything they need to issue my visa, this process I have been told should only take 5 to 10 working days before I have my passport back with the visa inside, this would mean that I would be able to go to the USA by Mid August 2010, however we have made plans for Traci to visit for 6 weeks in September and our 2nd wedding anniversary is in the first week of November so we have decided to delay my entry in to the USA until after our 2nd anniversary allowing us to get an IR-1 (10 year Green Card) instead of going a few months earlier and only obtaining a CR-1 (2 Year Conditional Green card).

I will give more info about the process and timescales as and when they happen so that you can learn from my experiences.

Thanks for all your support

I laid in bed last night & I prayed so hard for you guys. It must be so nice to have a plan.

Don't you think it's really unfair that you have to pay for all of the PCC & medical again? It isn't your fault that the process took so long. Although, Andrew, I suspect that you'll happily fork over the cash at this point! I know I would, even if it meant selling the furniture!

Great news. Hearty congrats, my friend. Now go & make that lady happy. :luv:

Hi Everyone

Today 16th July 2010 the I-601 Waiver Status PDF File was Updated

The last update that we received was just yesterday 15th July 2010 which was 1 day ago now.

So the highlights of todays update are:

No UK or Ireland based cases were added to the UK cases Pending this time around!!

2 cases have changed status to Under Review one from Oslo and one from London, which still leaves 5 UK based cases

LND2008 594 010 - OSL2007 706 001

2 cases were completed, one from Madrid and the other from London.

MDD2004 612 002 - LND2008 224 082

This was an unexpected update, considering the big update that was issued yesterday, Remember If your case number is above as a change of status or new case and you are on Visa Journey then please let me know your Case number and I will add VJ User and your Initials to the Spreadsheet.

Lets hope this is the beginning of the USCIS now starting to update us on a more regular basis as they have now up'd their average cases per week figure to 1.4 at which it currently stands .

As usual you can see these changes in my updated spreadsheet here > I-601 Status Update Spreadsheet 16th July 2010

Wishing you all the best for the next update and a great weekend with this fantastic hot weather we are having in the UK.

Take care all..

Congratulaions!!!

Personally I think you're right to wait for your anniversary - there's a huge difference between choosing to stay in the UK for a little bit longer with a date in mind, and external factors with no end in sight.

I'm so pleased for you two - I bet you've already ordered that new certificate Andrew, and Traci must be overjoyed!!! Fingers crossed the final few steps are trouble-free

Thanks Tree

We decided this morning to wait so that we can get the 10 year Green Card, plus it fits nicely as we do not have to rush, it also allows Traci a nice long 6 week visit to the UK in between the waiting period.

The Certificate has been ordered with one additional copy (Just in case) as the embassy have a knack of losing such documents, so for £5 more for an extra copy it is a no brainier, and my medical is booked.

Your right though, now we have confirmation that we have been accepted, I can now plan holidays, money transfer, visits to family & friends, sell my car, sell other items and be over in time for Thanks Giving and Christmas.

Hi Tex

Thank you for your congrats and nice comment, it is a relief after waiting so long.

Anyway of course we are both hoping that you have a positive outcome as well, as your case completed on the 16th July, you should be contacted by phone if successful by Thursday 22nd July if they follow the same time period that they did for us, it was 4 days after we were shown as completed on the PDF file (Mon 12th July) then I was contacted by phone.

Well good luck and we have our fingers and toes crossed for you.

Regards

Andrew & Traci
