Hi all!

My fiance and I will be mailing our application this week, and since this whole process makes me nervous, I just want to make sure that we completed everything correctly. I don't want to take the chance of having USCIS send back our forms for more info! :/

1. On the G325A form, there's a section that states: "Applican'ts last address outside the US of more than one year". Do I, the beneficiary, have to enter my current Toronto address on there again? I already entered it on the section above (Applican'ts residence last five years). If not, should I just leave it blank?

2. Any suggestions on how to best organize the package?

a) Is it okay to hole punch the forms and put it all in a binder with tabs/dividers?

B) Should the order of how the documents are arranged start with all the information regarding my fiance (I129F, his G-325A, passport photos, birth cert) then mine after? Or would it be better to have both our passport photos and G-325As right after another?

c) Regarding the "proof of relationship" documents, can pictures be placed in an album or can all the documents supporting this be separated in another folder? Suggestions of how to efficiently arrange this would be greatly appreciated.

I guess our goal is to organize everything in the most efficient way, so that it will be easier/simpler/quicker for the immigration officer to review everything. However, I just want to make sure that punching holes on the form and sticking tabs on them is okay too.

Thanks in advance, folks!

Follow the guides for the best way to put your package together.

In regards to your question about addresses. Fill in all blanks even though it may appear to be a duplicate answer. If it truly doesnt apply enter either Not applicable N/A, or NONE. Leaving a question blank could confuse the the service center as they may think you just missed that block and then send it back to you as an RFE. The only time a block should be left blank is if the form in questions specifically tells you to.

Hey Karla,

I'll try to give you an idea of what I did. Everyone probably does it a little differently. You should also check out the guides here at VisaJourney for putting your petition together.

1. On the G-325A I believe you can either put "Same as Question #" with the # being which ever question asked for your address before hand. Or you can put your address there again. I believe I put my address there again just to make sure, and it only took a minute. So, I would recommend you take a minute and put your address in there.

2. I made a cover sheet, breaking things down into sections, and listing the contents of each section on the cover sheet. So, for example one section was the G-325A's, where I put both G-325A's, the Passport photos, extra sheets I used for more room to answer some of the questions etc. I also used poster board to divide each section up, and used tabs to mark the sections. They ask that you put the tabs on the bottom rather than the sides. Just remember to attach each photo to it's correct G-325A, but use a paper clip etc. not staples.

3. They actually ask you to hole punch the petition if possble. But, they want it 3 hole punched on the top. Using fastners like the ACCO (I believe they are called) holding the petition together.

4. My packet went in this order:

I-129F

G-325A's

Proof of US Citizenship

Letters of Intent

Attachments to I-129F

Attachments to G-325A

Evidence of Relationship

Proof of Meeting

5. On the USCIS website they recommend you put the pictures in a seperate envelope, and clearly mark on the envelope what they are. Some people put them on paper, some put them on card, and some people put them in zip lock bags. Just remember you need to write the date, and description in pencil on the back of those photos, so you do not want them to be "stuck" there, they need to be able to see the back.

Again, this is just the way I did things. If you look on the USCIS website it tells you how they prefer you prepare the package, and also use the Guide here to help you.

Karla,

1. Depends - have you lived at your current Toronto address for more than 1 year?

2. Follow the instruction for assembling petition and application packages that can be found on the USCIS web site.

Recognize that regardless of how you assemble the package, between the USCIS mailroom and the case officer is a group of people who are going to open the envelope, tear apart its contents, spread them out on a big table (where other people are doing the same thing with other submissions at the same time), and re-assemble everything you sent into a case file. These are the people who are going to organize the material to make it easy for the case officer to review. What you need to do is make it easy for these people to tear your submission package apart, be able to identify what each item is, and not lose any of it.

Hi Yodrak.

Yes, I've lived in my Toronto address for more than 1 year. Is it okay to write "Same as address above" in that field? Or should I just leave it blank?

Wow, I didn't realize that people actually rearrange the package for the officer. Thanks for the valuable/interesting info!

Karla

I wouldn't leave anything blank. I guess you could put the same address again? I mean, it's not a lot of work...

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Karla,

'Same as above' would be OK, or repeat the information.

Don't thank me - thank a past VJer who no longer participates.
