Hello everyone,

USCIS reaffirmed my cr-1 petition and my wife received packet 3 from the consulate last week. I sent alot of evidence (copies) to USCIS (as part of my rebuttal) and would like to know if USCIS forwards those evidence to the consulate. And if not, will the consulate accept any evidence I send to them prior to the interview?

Also, does anyone know how long it takes for the consulate in HCMC to reply to emails?

Thanks

They will forward the entire file to the consulate. They will want you to wait till the interview to submit additional evidence. They usually responded to my emails in 1.5 - 3 weeks, 1 was 4 weeks laterbut then everything about my case with them has taken a bit longer...

My emails have been being answered within 2 weeks during the past few months. There were only two things I sent via email in advance. Our interview is the 15th and I sent a pdf of our notarized timeline and handwritten reaffirmation of intent to marry before I left to arrive here. No reply to either since its only been a week now.

Best Wishes

thanks guys. my plan was to wait a week after my wife submit the DS-230 & DS-2001 and then send everything i sent to USCIS + new evidence to the consulate.

they entered my wife's name in their system incorrectly so i sent an email asking them to correct it last week. will that work or do i have to send them a written letter or something else?

Vu Call DoS and they can correct it in the system...

I am interested to see what they say about the timeline Bernie as well as what happens at the interview having emailed the timeline....

Others (I think Dai for 1) have said it in the past and I am beginning to see exactly what they mean..... this is a beurocracy that we are dealing with and things must go in a specific order... if we try to do anything contrary to the stated norm or faster than expected, then we run the risk of bucking the system and in my case likely pissing off someone and getting sent to the end of the line or AP... Once the interview date is set I cant see them delaying it if additional info is sent via email, but it could cause them to say... "hmmm gimme a month to look over that stuff you emailed us.... here's a blue slip for now"

i'll probably call the state department if i don't receive a reply by wed.

i hired a lawyer and she's using form g-28 (Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney ....). but that's a form the homeland security department uses, not the state dept. what's up with that? is this the right form?

It was recommended from a friend from "elsewhere" that we send the letter of reaffirmation (hand written) about two weeks before the interview. I figured email was a much better option than regular mail and included in it that the original would be brought to the interview. Same with the timeline and I am curious too, especially since I have read about so many who brought it then were told to submit it later and given the run around. I don't wish to break any rules and get slammed by an attitiude but hopefully it will work in a positive way and this would allow them time for review too. I'll let everyone know soon. (Got a message from Jim va Phuong - We will be hooking up together while the girls go for their interviews)!! Lots of prayers!
