Okay I haven't got my visa and my interview date was the 23rd of Feb. I called the courier and they hadn't received it from the embassy. So I called DOS because it's cheaper than the extortion line, right? They answered the phone kept me on hold for an unexplained reason and came back to me... gave them my case number and she was like "you're on additional processing... wait about another week". What??? So then I thought "did she mean administrative processing?" which would be bad, right? So I gave in and called the extortion line. The guy asked me why I was calling and I said it had been more then 5 days since my interview and it doesn't look like my visa was issued yet. He really didn't want to take my case number and asked me why I was so concerned so I explained and he was like "why did you call DOS?" so I said it was cheaper than calling the embassy and they've been able to give me updates before. So, finally he took my case number (way to go on keeping me on the phone for as long as possible) and said "I see absolutely no problems. Just give it a few more days, the 5 days is a guide and not really a rule" and then he explained what AP means and that he doesn't see anything that suggests it pertains to my case.

So... now I'm confused.

It will be on it's way soon...I know that out of all the different stages of waiting during the process, this is the most fustrating but you're nearly there! The 5 days is a guidline and sometimes it takes a little longer. If you were in AP they would have told you already. Just be patient for a little longer..it is coming :)

Why would DOS mention AP though? I've thought about it and I remember she said "they've put you on administrative processing, give it about a week and they should send you your visa". I think those people hate me. I called them for an update on when my interview might be and they said "still processing, no interview yet" and then the next day I got a letter from the embassy with an interview date which was dated days before I called DOS.

Anyway, thanks for your reassurance. :)

Yay!!!!! Time to celebrate!!!! 18 weeks cut down to less than 5 remaining before the interview date! Congratulations, ohlpomr!!!!!!

I have a feeling this news is going to make a lot of people feel less stressed around the boards, lurkers and members.

Oh you are so right, it sure has.

(IV Branch? I guess that stands for international visas and not intravenous fluids. If we were waiting for blood transfusions from them, we'd all be dead!)

It's "IV" for "Immigrant Visa". ;)

My fiance is in London right now, about to have his interview. Of course, we're both horribly nervous, but obviously, he is, more so than me! I'll post as soon as we have a decision!

And thanks to everyone on here who has helped us out and asked the thousands of questions we've had. You have all been an invaluable resource in this long, complicated, confusing process!

Just received a phonecall from a friendly woman at the embassy (I nearly died when my dad told me who was on the phone) who told me that due to staff illness, my interview's been postponed to the 16th. Anyone else? I know it's just one more week but we're both gutted :(
