Hey guys just got married on a k1 visa :). My fiancee is from Canada. We read the AOS guides and I had a few questions.

1) my fiancee was on an R1 visa previously so she already has a SSN. So that means she doesn't have to have to go there correct.

2) How do go about changing her last name to mine ? IS that at the SS office ?

3)On the i-485 form it asks for an "a# if any" What is that and where would i find that ?

Thanks,

Carvin

Yes

You can go there personally or by mail ( click here http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/ssa.cf...php?p_faqid=315)

in the passport where the visa is A#....

Thanks,

Carvin

Hey Carvin! Congrats on the marriage! Your WIFE's (;)) SSN will still be valid, she just needs to do a simple name change which can normally be done using her passport and a copy of the marriage certificate. If you want her Green Card to be issued in her married name, make sure you fill out all of the AOS paperwork in the new married name.
