Hi , I have all my medical documents now and am in the process of faxing Vancouver my check list, but I have a question for anyone who has had their interview and who has been previously married.

Do you need the original documents of both mine and his previous marriages and divorces?

He was married twice and I was married once.

Does he need to send me this info for the interview??

Is there anything else I should have of his???

I hope this question makes sense.

Thanks everyone

You will need everything that was sent with the I129F, yes. This will (should!) have included copies of all divorce certificates, proving that you are both free to marry.

Take a look at the guide for K1 visas at the top of this page, when you scroll down past the I129F part, it will list everything you will need to take with you to the interview.

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

The originals of divorce documents are never available to you. The originals get filed in a governmental office somewhere.

In the US, they are on file in the Circuit Clerk's office of the county wherein the divorce was entered. Certified copies of the originals can be obtained from the Clerk. USCIS or DOS may wish to see an original certified copy at the interview.

Naturally divorce 'decrees' in foreign nations all have different filing repositories. You should have an "original' of whatever the normal official proof of divorce is for that country with you at any immigration proceeding.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I am really looking forward to not being so uptight and nervous about this whole procedure.
