I believe you need your TD booster shot every 5 years.

Tetanus is every 10 years.

I had to get mine redone as mine was almost at the 10year mark. It was free at my regular doctor.

Im confused about their requirements regarding the Tdap. I got my last tetanus shot (+ diphteria) in 2002, and it says good for 10 years next to it.

But in the list of vaccines required for immigration, it says if you havent had a booster in 2 years, you need the Tdap. If I need it, Id rather go see my regular doctor for it, but it should really still be good for 2+ years.

Has anybody figured that one out?

Also, did you have to show up at 6h30 in the morning, like they do at the woking clinic in Van, or did you have an actual appointment during the day?

Um if you get it you could get a bad reaction. Tetanus is one of thos shots that they have a reason to give you it 10 years a part. I recommend not getting it. They should not request you to either if you are still within the 10 year mark. I would dispute it if they tried to make you get it.

Medisys gives you an actual apointment you dont just show up early they take you at the appointment time given but it can take a long time after to get it finished depending on how many people are there.

As long as you've had your tetanus shot in the last ten years, you're fine.

The immunization requirements for the tetanus shot state:

An initial series of three immunizations, which are normally received in childhood at ages 2, 4 and 6 months and a booster immunization within the last 10 years must be documented.

or

If you have no proof of a primary series you must begin an adult series of TWO doses of Td 4 to 8 weeks apart with a third dose 6 to 12 months after the second. You must be as up-to-date as possible with your series at the time of your immigration medical.

or

You must have proof of a Td booster within the 4 weeks prior to your immigration medical.

or

An antibody titers blood test showing proof of immunity to tetanus and diphtheria.

The other points listed for it are only if you haven't kept up to date with the shot, or haven't had it at all.

I know... it's all in my head. I have a pretty high tolerance to pain, so it's not waht bothers me... I start feeling faint as if they had taken 2 pints of blood, and I have passed out before from blood tests. :( Even for vaccines, I end up making a huge fuss, get sweaty and anxious and have them give me the shot lying down. lol big baby.

Im glad the nurse who did it at your appointment was nice though. I heard someone who had her medical in TO say that when she mentionned she was afraid of needles, the nurse said something like "we're not here to make you feel more comfortable". B*tch.
