I'm trying to find where I read that you should have your visa within 5 business days after the interview. anybody know where this is? I'd like to have something in writing to back up our request to pick up the visa the next day.

I did an informal look-see through timelines before my interview, and was seeing the average was 7 days.

Mine took 6, and that included a holiday when Canada Post didn't deliver, so actually it was 5.

I soooooo can relate to your frustration with Canada Post! And I am so happy that the package finally reached you! Good luck with POE!

Oh yeah, I should add that I actually wrote my phone number on the address part too. I mean, if someone couldn't figure out what's going on with the parcel, why not call me???

I truly hope that mine was the worst case that's ever happened. Seriously, if you can do this, maybe its worthwhile to type out and use those sticker labels for the address part. And just hope that the stars are aligned in your favor when they sort the mail.

Oh man, not only have I finished packing since Montreal, my fiance's brought most of my stuff since then. He would slowly bring my clothes each time he came... and on his last return to the US, the customs person asked him what's in his luggage, and he said, "My fiancee just had her K1 visa interview and Im bringing her clothes with me. She will follow when she receives her visa". The customs person shrugged and welcomed him back to the country.

So I've been living off a handful of outfits and am really ready to go come Monday!!!!

Finally married... and still married... ;)

See, the fact that the customs officer just shrugged is amazing, since it seemed so much like trying that would get my stuff confiscated. J drove back to the US with.. my Scrabble board game. He wouldn't even take a yoga mat

I guess you'd have to get your stuff down before anyway, since you're flying. so much less hassle

I sent some stuff back with my fiance yesterday.

I already have a dog and a wedding dress, I don't think I'd be able to carry much more with me
