I'd wait until after the visa is approved and in my hand before buying tickets. You never know if you'll be denied, need to submit additional evidence, or just fall through the processing cracks and not get the visa in a timely manner. If you're approved and don't hit any delays you should be fine with that amount of time. However, unless the tickets are fully refundable or changeable I wouldn't take the chance of booking now.

I agree and while waiting just spend time with your family and be with them this xmas season. i am sure you will miss our xmas in the philippines. Good luck. :)

You're too close not to spend the Christmas with your family ... I, personally chose to spend the Xmas and new year here (even if in case I have the visa and CRBA approved) .. The traditions here are way too different (and too much fun) and like Nelly said, you'll definitely miss it..

But anyhoo ... it's your choice. good luck in advance and happy trip! :)

I agree with the above posters. I'm spending Chistmas in the Phils with my wife, then coming back to the U.S. alone. My wife will work out a notice with her employer, then spend about 2 weeks in her hometown with her family. Afterall, we won't likely get to go back for 3-4 years after she leaves. Don't know about your situation, but it might be nice to have your Noche Buena and Media-Noche there, in case you don't get to do it for a while after you leave.

I'm the hope that lives within him after storm clouded days.

The freedom from war that gives wings to his heart,

May they reach across the miles and bind our hearts together

thanks all who replied my post....our plan is really to spend Christmas in the US with my husband's family, all his siblings, nephews and nieces will be at his parents house every Christmas eve, as they always celebrate Christmas together...it will be a good time for me to meet them all. Some of them are living in other city so it's not easy for them all to be together always... but now we are still confuse about booking of tickets..maybe we just really wait when i have the visa on hand.

thank you again

When to buy tickets - that I can not advise but I think your plan to have a big family holiday in the US is a good one. Christmas in the USA can be very nice! Just wait to get your tickets maybe. We are trying for a flight to USA 13 days from interview. Fingers crossed - but as of now passport has not been sent. Interview on 12th - nothing on 17th. Air 21 says it is still at USEM... Best Wishes and Happy Holidays!
