Well if noone is addressing the issue directly, what's the point?

there is no point, however to say about comparisons:

"It's changing the subject to something that has little relevance to the complexities of the issues involved.

isn't right.

actually, comparisons help simplify complex issues.

so i continue to believe that asking if abortion is health care and frame it around "pulling a decayed tooth vs. pulling a perfectly good tooth" is a much better comparison than carpet bombing.

If you think so. I don't really care - they're both irrelevant to the subject.

While it was alleged that I took the thread off on a tangent, and I defended myself that I had not, I will go right for the point of the OP, that there is "No easy way out" for the Dems on abortion...

On the contrary, the Republicans have been blowing hot air all the while having a publicly funded health care plan that covered abortion since 1991, smell the hypocrisy people:

November 13, 2009RNC to end coverage for abortion Posted: November 13th, 2009 08:00 AM ET

From CNN Political Editor Mark Preston

"Money from our loyal donors should not be used for this purpose," RNC Chairman Michael Steele said in a statement released late Thursday. "I don't know why this policy existed in the past, but it will not exist under my administration. Consider this issue settled."

In a note accompanying the statement, the RNC said this type of coverage dated to 1991.

The Politico newspaper first reported the story Thursday.
