Vaccines - What do i need to get?

I have been looking at the list of vaccines that are required to have for AOS.

Now... I haven't had many of them - i'm only aware of receiving Polio a few years back when i changed doctors. I'm 27 and according to the table most aren't required for me, but my assumption is that most folks will have had the vaccine when they should have and therefore that's why they aren't required.

Now, there's no point having to pay the Medical doctor in London for them if the NHS will give them to me for nothing. :innocent:

So... will i need to be 'filled full of holes' for all the jabs i've missed or will i just need the 'Td/Tdap' & 'MMR' ones that are applicable to me?

I've already had chickenpox as a child so i hope i get exempt for that one.

Hi, I couldn't get my vac records and all I had to have was the TDAP and MMR booster. It is age appropriate so it doesn't matter about missed vacs. If you've had chicken pox then they will take your word for it and you'll be exempt from it. I spent a lot of time worrying over the lack of records and I really didn't need to. You can pre-empt by having them done by your doctor before you're medical. At your medical they will give you the choice to either have them there or go back to your own doctor but then you'll have to fax proof back to them.

Hope this helps

Amanda :)

Yeah... I'll get them done with my local GP. Why pay for something that you can get on NHS for nothing? :)

I haven't looked about my records just yet, but i do know it'll not take long to read (only been about 3 times since all the 'baby stuff' was completed). :D

The whole process is expensive enough, never mind (possibly) having to pay for all these little 'additions'.

My wife had no vaccination records so she got the Tetanus and MMR shots at the Medical exam. They said she could have got them with her local GP but we just got them on the day and was no problem.
