If the death penalty option doesn't reduce crime in this country to the levels seen in other developed nations, what makes you think that corporal punishment will be any more effective?

Tells me that its a bigger issue than just how you go about punishing the criminals.

All I said here is that gloating over something like this is pretty ghoulish.

Fair enough. I cannot say I agree nor disagree with it. UK and AUS have lenient sentences and it has done little to stop the crime. Actually made it worse. A Britt was killed in a street fight in Aus, yet his mother wants leniency for the perpetrator. Whereas, I want the guy to suffer; for the very least, to set an example for others thinking of being so stupid. You know my solution, one thing that works and has worked for thousands of years: Corporal punishment.

The problem I have with the US's approach is that no one ever looks at what made this person snap. No one questions why this stuff barely happens overseas, yet occurs every few years here.

Is this yet another thinly veiled attempt to blame all that ails the nation on Mexican immigrants?

No but I am still waiting on your explanation to the link in my sig. Or is the FBI making these up too?

The stats speak for themselves. You cannot deny Singapore's ridiculously low crime rate.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I think it's video games

Why is that funny? Do you have studies to prove that they have no effect? It's not that hard to compare countries on face value and notice the differences, which may be a cause of the high crime rate in the US.

Yet at the same time, one cannot deny that American states where minorities make up less than 2% of the state's population, have lower crime rates than Aus, Canada, the UK and even Europe.

Maybe we should send some of our best white folk to Australia to teach y'all how it's done.

You can joke all you like, unfortunately it does not change reality.

I'm serious. Clearly our white people are better than your white people. It would be a nice gesture on our part if we let you borrow a few for a while. You might learn something.

It's nothing to do with white.

I am so glad (forget his name) brought this to my attention. It's a one-punch knockout to any crime related argument. It's the same thing regarding who makes up the majority of those wanted by the FBI. To be wanted by them, we know the crimes would have to be heinous.

That's not what you said 4 minutes ago.

Relax, you were trying to be a smart azz. Actually your joke proves my point. Both are white right? Yet, why the difference in crime? Obviously, there is some sort of difference between the two that fosters crime. No? UK, Canada and Aus have quite a few immigrants (minorities), whereas, the states I am referring to clearly do not. Just saying.

Nothing to do with skin but more to do with culture and standards. EG, Indian migrants have a relatively low rate of crime; probably one of the lowest amongst immigrants.

momentarily you will be chastised for celebrating death.

Well you should be really. Chestbeating over the execution doesn't really solve anything - except to highlight the bloodlust of individuals. I expect it gives the families of the victims little more than a scant, empty feeling of comfort.

Were wiping this scum off the face of the earth, no need for a high road.

Although I am not opposed to the death penalty, I don't think it is something to be celebrated. I won't waste an ounce of emotion on the man.

Hes getting a big fat serving of justice, thats reason enough for me to celebrate.
