I took the downloaded PDF file with the packet3 instructions and highlighted the details that she has to prepare

for the interview in Red+Bold after copying/pasting the entire text of the PDF to an MS-Word file.

I also filled out and highlighted in red/bold the FORM DS-2001 which also has to be presented.

We went over the required forms and filled them out together when we were together last month, but it's good

to go over the complete checklist to make sure nothing was left out. We still have a few more days to review

everything before the police report is received, so after that the package will be complete.

She has 2 previous passports, copies of which we submitted with the K-1 Petition.

On the packet3 checklist, it says

PREVIOUS PASSPORT(S): Applicants who have traveled to the United States should also

present all previous passports.

"

She never traveled to the US so should she bring the old passports or copies of them to the interview?

Back at the ranch, I prepared 7 pages (8.5x11") with around 6 pics to a page of shots of us together during my

last trip to Thailand, a total of around 40 pics. We took pics with her relatives, her friends, at her workplace and

at various hotels and tourist landmarks. I can print them out on plain paper on a color printer. Each pic is dated

with a description. We have 2 pics of us together with the day's copy of the "Bangkok Post" and "The Nation".

both had prominent headlines about the rail strike which we all know happened in October. In Hua Hin, they

had an elaborate Halloween display outside one of the malls so that's good proof of me having been in Thailand

in October. 90% pf the pics had date stamps. I think we're well covered in the photo department. She asked about

more pics of our previous meetings, but I sent plenty of those with the I-129F petition; for the interview I think

they will want to see the most recent meeting, as the previous meeting was 17 months before that.

Don't recall seeing that in packet 3 instructions when we went thru BKK two and a half years ago. Rin had a previous passport; never travelled to the USA; did not submit a copy of it or take it to the interview.

Thanks, I think you're right.

She gave me photocopies of her 2 previous passports which I just routinely sent along with the K-1 package,

but with 20-20 hindsight I don't think they were necessary.

She had no travel to countries under US "travel blockade" and definitely not to the US itself.

For the interview scheduling - She will be going to Chiang Mai in early December

for 4 days (for work) and is worried that they may schedule an interview for

one of those days. I said that they can't schedule an interview without her

knowledge (as far as I know) but I may be wrong.

Do they assign you an interview date or does the applicant choose from

dates that are available?

She cancelled the trip to Chiang Mai so that point is moot, but thanks.

Q-

Will she have to show the bill (for the post office payment for the application fee) when she goes to the interview or send it

or a copy of it to make the appointment? She's not sure about this.

When is the best time to pay the application fee?

"APPLICATION FEE: Each K Visa applicant must pay in Thai baht the equivalent of

US$131.00 non-immigrant visa fee, which is non-refundable, at any Thai Post Office.

Please mail in the receipt which is valid for one year."

Does it get mailed with packet3 or separately to the consulate address below?

Return all the documents and forms immediately by mail to:

US Embassy, Consular Section, Immigrant Visa Unit

95 Wireless Road, Lumpini, Bangkok, 10330

(I would expect that it would be good to put our case number on the envelope).

We've been discussing what exactly goes back to the consulate with packet 3.

I'm going with the assumption that it's better to provide more if there is any doubt.

All the forms are done and all the documents/certificates are in.

Primarily i'm going by the email that was sent to me with the case number from the consulate,

together with the online instructions Embassy Link:

DS-230 Part I (original?)

Signed checklist (DS-2001) original?

2 frontal photographs

a photocopy of the applicant’s passport photo page

and photocopies of all required application documents listed in the Packet 3 checklist.

By photocopies, that would be photocopies of:

DS-2001

DS-230

DS-156

DS-156K

DS-157

Birth Certificate

Name Change Certificate

Marriage Certificate

Divorce Certificate

Photocopy of police clearance certificate

(bring all originals of the above to the interview)

{Medical form instructions to come with interview invitation}

Anything left out?

packet3 sent today :D

Interview will be Nov. 24

Nobody knows everything in this crazy complex process, least of all me.

I was under the delusion that packet4 required sending in additional documentation,

but all it seems to be is a reminder to get your medical done and come for the interview.

The packet4 checklist is virtually identical to packet3, with the exception that if the medical

wasn't already done, it has to be done before the interview.

Her medical was done before we got the packet3 letter.
