Billions world wide want to stay where they are.

Good point. That would lead me to the conclusion that the majority of people are happy where there are. I can only think of one off the top of my head who is not.

Some of us have high standards, others do not.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Some make sense, others do not.

For some a 7 series is the norm, for others a 1987 F150 is the norm.

For some being ranked 1st or second for quality of life matters. For others being ranked 13th is no big deal.

But why would you drive a 7 series when that excess could be used to help fund healthcare?

You missed the point. For some Jay Z is cool, for others the rest of the industrialized world, Paul Van ####### is cool.

For some urban ghetto is cool, for others urban is the butt of jokes.

Right, but I'm sure you would look down at the one who drove the 1987 F-150, correct? That would mean they weren't at the same high standard, otherwise they would be driving a BMW.

OMFG Paul Van #######

Um House and Trance is much more popular in Europe, Asia and South America than urban ghetto #######.

The example is not about the car but about the standards of a society. After all, it's why so many here swear by US cities, yet the international community always ranks US cities poorly.

It's why so many here don't care about infrastructure like Airports, yet the rest of the industrialized world clearly does. Hence, the condition of their airports.

It's why roads are clean in most European, Canadian or Australian cities but dilapidated and dirty here.

It's why public transport is new abroad but third world like here; not to mention almost non-existent.

Why don't the people here care about infrastructure, yet they do in other nations? What is important to society here that is not elsewhere?

If I read you correctly you seem to be saying that you have the same standards as 2nd and 3rd world immigrants who want to move to the US.
