I just joined this site like many others I see and it looks like its helping alot of people get things fixed. I am an American citizen and have been married to my Filipina wife for 13 months. Last August we tried to get the "Visitor Visa" at the Embassy in Manila and got turned down. All of her paperwork was all filled out correctly but the hang up was that she could not answer the question about my permanant address. Was it here in the Philippines or in the U.S. She stated to them that it was here in the Philipines and that we had purchased property, vehicles, had kids enrolled in schools etc. and had no intentions of living back in the U.S.. I want to introduce my wife to my mother and father and sister back in the states before they go to the happy hunting ground. I am a retired military man and can live better on my pension here than back in the states. They asked for no proof of property or any other holdings. They did ask her if I had applied for permanate residency here and she said I was applying for the 13a visa. Well they said that until I could verify I was living in the Philippines permanantly that she was being denied. Since that time I have submitted my 13a paperwork and have gone through the interview process and am now waiting for the papers to be returned from Manila. We live in Davao. When I receive the papers back is it feasable to try and go the "Tourist Visa" route again? Is there a different one I should be working on? I would appreciate any guidance on this. Thankyou Keith

The visitor visa is correct for a visit to the U.S.

You will have a much easier time getting your wife a visa to visit the U.S. once you have the 13a resident visa for the Philippines.
