I-134 Question

Hello Everyone,

This is a question regarding the I-134 Affidavit of Support.

Embassy: Bogota, Colombia

About me:

I am a 2nd year Dental Student. I currently do not work, my only income is from Federal Loans (Stafford and Gradplus). I pay 70k a year to goto school and I'm given an extra 35-40k a year for living. So, in affect my loans are for Tuition + Cost of Living. I have read in some previous posts that loans will not suffice for this form.. however, I have also read that if I have loans that exceed the tuition, then that money is considered income.

The argument I have read is Tuition is NOT taxable, however the Cost of living IS taxable, there for is considered income.

Tuition: 70k

Living: 35-40k

My question is:

1) Can I put on the I-134 the amount I'm given for living expenses as income on the Affidavit form?

2) For those of you that have interviewed as Bogota, Colombia, will a bank statement of deposits into my bank account suffice as evidence? Do they even really care about the evidence at this embassy?

Thank you all for helping. I only hope for the best to all those who are still waiting for the day they can meet their significant others at the airport.
