I can not figure where top post this question? My wife is a Philippina she came to the US on a fiancee visa and we were married 3 years ago in the US. We have done the paperwork and have just finished up the removal of conditions succesfully.

Her Philippine passport has her maiden name on it, should this be changed? I guess best question is what should we do now? She may be traveling to the Philippines next year in june, for short trip.

If her passport is not nearly expiring, you don't have to change anything yet. Just make sure that when you buy her the ticket, the name on it will match her passport. Is this her first time trip back to the Philippines? If it does, then she better bring her marriage certificate with her to explain why her name on her greencard is different from her passport.

If her passport is close to expiring, change her name into her married name upon renewing it. But of course, for you to be able to do that you must report your marriage to the Philippine consulate. Hang out in the Philippine Forum and search for Report of Marriage and Passport Amendment.

She will have to file a Report of Marriage with the Philippine consulate that has jurisdiction for your state. Otherwise, she will not be able to get a new passport issued in her married name once she needs to.

Claudeth's passport was close to expiring after we got married so once we completed AOS I took her to the Filipino consulate in Los Angeles and got her a new passport in her married name. The consulate also updated her records with Manila (NBI maybe). Anyway, make sure you have copies of everything associated with the K-1, the marriage license, any divorce papers, the green card, etc. We spend about 4 hours at the consulate as I was running up and down the building getting copies of things. They wouldn't just tell us you need copies of this and that until I brought back something they needed and then would be on my way for the next thing. The guy in the copy store on the first floor kept joking with me that he would be seeing me again very soon and he was right, about 5 or 6 times

Depending on where you live you can see if you can find any information on the consulate web site that would be closest to you.

Good luck and have patiences
