The medical is easy. I had mine done with Dr. Seiden in Montreal and it was fast and easy. I didn't even have to change into one of those little paper gowns. A few general health questions, took my BP, checked the glands in my neck, listened to my lungs and heart, then did the little tap test on my abdomen, check my reflexes in my knees and that was it for the exam portion. I went to the lab and they took 2 vials of blood, then it was off to the x-ray. They didn't have a technician in that day, and the clinc in the building that the medical was in was really backed up, so they sent me to another clinic a few kms away. It was no big deal....it was the direction that I had to travel to go home, so it all worked out!

I didn't have my blood titre results with me, but I called before hand and they told me that I could just have my family Doc fax them over when she got them.

You're coming to Colorado soon?! My goodness, there is a sudden wave of VJers with Rocky Mountain fever

You'll be great, try not to worry so much. After you'll look back at it and laugh at yourself for being so worked up. The interview isn't hard, and the medical is even easier!

Thanks so much for the support guys. I`m at my sisters, go to the airport om Thursday. Medical Friday. I`m more nervous about the interview than anything. It seems most people are young who are applying are young...I Think I might be less nervous if I was younger? Us old folks don`t have as much time as you young chicks... :P

On the P3 checklist it asks if medical examination was obtained

I thought I arrange the medical once the interview date is assigned? I'm confused...

I have had a recent medical from my own doctor but not the one they want yet..

so do I check yes? do I not?

no the medical must be done by a panel physician that the embassy only pick..

not sure where you plan on doing it but in montreal there is only 2.... medisys or seiden

you can check yes but you have to go get your medical before your interview

and be ready to pay around 200$ maybe more

Yes, this I know - but I arrange it once they arrange my interview date yes? Do I do the medical well before the interview? or can I book it for the same day as the interview?

Check the box saying you've arrange the medical and send it back. You can then schedule your appointment when you want. You want the medical as close to the interview (but before) as you can since you need it to be valid for your AOS, and medicals are only valid for a year.

Ok had the medical, and there is a hitch. They requested a letter from my doctor saying she was following my progress on one of my meds. This seems incredibly stupid to me, as you can`t get your scrips renewed without seeing the doc at least once a year here in NS. I am trying to get my doc to do it as fast as possible, but she was out of the office Friday...I am hounding her secretary today calling every couple of hours. Oh my nerves....OY!!

The woods are lovely, dark and deep; But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep...
