expedite request

I am US citizen and recently filed I-I30 for my husband requesting consular processing both on cover letter as well as in the I-130 application. My husbandis currently overseas and plans to be there till immigrant visa is processed. The I-130 petition was approved august 11,2009. For some reason or the other, USCIS has requested my husband adjust his status(AOS) at the local USCIS office here in Sac and also gave her the the option to request consular processing(CP) by filing I-824.

Although,I made it clear from the start I'd like consular processing(CP). I did file the I-824 but it looks like its its gonna take too much time to proccess that so i requested a expedite since i believe they made an error , they took my expedite request last week oct 15 and i got a email from them on the 19th saying they will forward this request to my local field office and work on it, i didnt hear anything from them since then.

my question is how long do they usually take to proccess a expedite request?

All feedback appreciated

thank you
