My story is,i just received my immigrant u.s. visa last oct 23,2009. but i noticed that on my visa they use my old passport number....ito kasi ang nangyari,my name was Joyce with one letter E but i applied for correction and it was granted a week before my interview so now it is Joycee i assumed that it will be ok even if im using the old passport with uncorrected name bcoz i knew that they will just issue me that white paper to get a new valid passport with my name corrected..and yes,i was really correct, the consul gave me back my passport and asked me to get a new one with a correct name,so i did get a new one with my correct name.....i was expecting that they will use my new passport number when they issue the visa bcoz i have already submitted a new one with the corrected name.

so now,i have here my new passport with my visa on it with the old passport number, and then they stapled my old passport attached together..would i encounter a problem on this in the immigration?..please help me..give me an advise please..

God bless and More power...

So you have already received your visa? I assumed your passport number stays the same. If you have received the visa and it has caused you no problems, then your are lucky. I suggest calling the department of state and informing then. I'm sure you are not the first people to have done this.

Make sure you passport is in fact wrong. Then call and speak to DOS

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

hi,atually im still here in the philippines.and yes i already got my visa, but im still confused if this thing would cause me a prob on my port of entry bcoz my visa was pasted on a new passport with my correct name"Joycee" but has a passport number with the one which has uncorrect name "Joyce" just single letter though.

i dont think you'll encounter any problems. Whats important is that your name on visa and passport matches. Also, the old passport is attached to your new passport anyway, you can always show it when they ask about the passport number on your visa.

I suggest you bring all legal documents showing your name change.
