Hi all.. So I moved to the US, got married, submitted AOS package and am currently living in matrimonial bliss! Hurrah!

Just wanted to let you know that I went to get my SSN today. I was worried because I read that a lot of K1 people have difficulties applying but it was a piece of cake. I just handed the lady at the window my application and passport with my k1 visa in it and that was that.

The one catch is that she said it could take up to 4 weeks for the department of homeland security to verify my documents and entry. I waited 11 days since my entry hoping to avoid that but I guess it wasn't long enough. But once that goes through, my existence will finally be validated by the US government woohoo.

Hope everyone elses journey is going well. Good luck.
