At the very end of the form it says, "Applicant: Print your name and alien registration number in the box..."

I'm assuming that the "applicant" is the subject of the form.

On the USC form, what do you put in the alien registration box? "none" or your ssn?

Thanks to both of you for answering. It just seems to be these tiny details that get me confused.

Redglasses, I see you went through the process in Tokyo recently. Could you tell me how it was? Is there anything I should be aware of?

Both the petition and interview were quite easy.

I pretty much followed the instruction (I-130 and interview checklists) on the embassy website and that was it.

You can see what to expect for both the petition and interview on the embassy review page at http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/

Thanks so much for that link, it's really helpful, and a couple of other issues have become a lot more clear because of that. I'm really glad to see that for the most part people are helpful and friendly there (even if they don't take phone calls :P).
