travel with only the 551 endorsement ??????

Wife just got into the states yesterday and her CR1 was stamped and "endorsed".

Is she able to travel outside of the country on that before she recieves her green card?

Has anyone traveled without yet recieving their green card?

Why I'm asking is because the lady handing her the visa and giving the instructions at the embassy was VERY CLEAR in saying my wife could not travel (the airlines would not let her leave, or if they did, immigration would not let her in) out of the country untill recieving her green card.

Now when processing when she arrived in Miami, I asked the immigration officer processing her forms. He said she could travel and would be allowed back in the U.S. He said the stamp "endorses" the visa and is a temporary green card.

I'm tryng to see others experiences travelling abroad without a green card and only the 551 CR1 stamped in the passport on her visa page.

Yes, the stamp in her passport acts as a temporary green card. I travelled back to Canada one week after my POE with my stamped passport and had no issues at all.
