Hello,

As the sponsor of my wife who has applied for AOS, I have sent the I-864, and I wrote the wrong amount as a my income. I said that my income was over the poverty guidelines, but it is not. Also I had my mother do the I-864 as a joint sponsor just in case. Her income is above the poverty level.

The problem is, that we received a request for initial evidence regarding my income on the I-864 form and they did not mention anything about the joint sponsor, my mother.

USCIS is now asking for documentation proving my income, like "letter of employment", including dates of employment, nature of job, etc...

I can prove that I worked during the year, but it would not be as much as I claimed on the form

Does anybody have any advice what to do in this situation?

Is it better to write a letter of explanation or should we send another I-864 with the right income of mine and explain the mistake. My income will not be enough though.

Also, should we file my mother's I-864 again as a joint sponsor, or should we consider the I-864A form ? We are currently living at my parent's house, but for less then 6 months.

I would appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance!
