Hi All,

Our I-130 was approved on Sept 24th, but we haven't been assiged NVC case# yet. our 129f was approved on Oct 8th, and today, we received the nvc case#.

I have been reading on the forums and preferred option is CR1. but I am not sure whats going on with I-130 which was approved 3 weeks back. Operator tells me it can take upto 90 days..I am not sure now if I should go ahead with K3 or wait for CR1 ...

has anyone faced similar situation? any suggestions ?

Many people have had success following K3 and switching at the embassy to CR1... I only filed for IR1, but perhaps there is someone here that can advise more on that....

Is your K3 in AP at NVC??? Reason I ask, if it is in AP, follow CR1 thru NVC, see which one hits embassy first, ither way do a flip at embassy if possible. This is not always possible cause embassy can cancel a K3 "Just like Paris embassy did today to us " and you have to interview for the CR1, which is fine, cause CR1 is the better visa.

Truly happy!!!

You will get a case number soon for the CR1, then follow thru with it at NVC.

AP is Additional Processing, usually back ground check for what ever matter, K3 and K1 petitions are no strangers for AP at the NVC. Ours lasted 37 days, in that 37 days we completed CR1 at the NVC. We completed the CR1 the same day our K3 came out of AP.

Ditch the K3 it will only cost you more money once she gets here.

Truly happy!!!

Im saying, its possible your K3 could get AP at NVC. Look, do yourself a favor, FORGET the K3, not worth it. Go and read in the K3 threads here on VJ, K3 is a big, worthless mistake when all said and done. And save your $1010.00 when she gets here. It may get her a month sooner, but you pay so much more for it after she is here.
