Our case approval will expire next month, November 22nd, and up to this time, my police clearance from Israel hasn't arrived yet.

Is the USEM going to extend the validity of our case even without me or my fiance doing anything (sending e-mail or calling the embassy)?

Thanks!

By all means get an extension. You have come too far to stop now.

Get on the phone with Israel and see what is the hold up.

Have your SO here in the states call his congress man to see if they can also call Israel. That government is supposed to be one of our allies!!!

Thanks for your replies. Is it better to send a letter or to just call the USEM to ask for the Extension of Approval?

The staff at the Embassy of Israel told me that Israeli Police Clearance usually takes at least a month and a half and could take a couple months longer

Make sure you get verification from the embassy that they have granted and acknowledge your extension.

We requested extension, and kept the embassy informed of our paperwork problems for about 9 months. They said "no problem".

Then at the interview they said "this is a problem". VISA DENIED !

Send a letter, send an email, call them on the phone, send a fax, keep on them - just ask for a letter or email in return as proof that they have received your request and have granted you an extension, and don't delay.

Good luck
