I'd like to know an estimate of about how long it may take for the CO to review the documents. An estimate based on the VJ members, not the standard estimate written by the CO.

My fiance lives in Afghanistan and he had his interview in Islamabad, Pakistan on September 15, 2009; additional documents were requested and they were received not so long ago. I'm anticipating on the estimated time of 3.5 months - 4 months based on my uncle's wife's case. Anyone else has an estimate?

I can't say for sure because mine is not even to that point yet but I have also heard from family/friends that it takes about 3/4 months.

Also, a question for you, do you know what kind of documentation the pakistan embassy requires? such police report (from kabul?), affidavit of support documentation (do they require tax returns?), and any other thing I need to keep an eye on?

If you are doing a K-1 visa (fiance/e petition), the sponsor (you) and the co-sponsor (friends/family/parents) needs to submit their 2008 tax returns. You complete the I-134 affidavit and so do the co-sponsorers (if any). Police report is not required but it is best if you do get one, my fiance got one and they didn't say anything. Always make a copy of all the documents you send out to Islamabad. Keeping a copy for yourself is always the best. Your fiance should be getting the 3.5 packet and it will tell you what documents need to be submitted. It is best to get started on the DS-156 since that is a form that is done online via the Department of State website.

And thank you for your response... my fiance called the embassy and they said 3-4 months as well. Did your family/friends have the same situation?
