Hi VJ Family I received my GC last Sept 19, 2009 w/ wrong information (USCIS error) On Sept 21, 2009 I sent form I-90 including all docs to support my claim and waive the fee. They received the pocket on the 23rd. And on Oct 1st I received the NOA (notice date Sept 28,2009) for my application and said....

"THE APPLICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY OUR OFFICE AND IS IN PROCESS.

PLS VERIFY YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION LISTED ABOVE AND IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE USCIS NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER AT THE PHONE NUMBER BELOW IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES"

And then when I checked my CASE STATUS ONLINE heres what I saw...

On September 28, 2009, a fingerprint fee deficiency notice for this case I90 APPLICATION TO REPLACE ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD was mailed to you advising you that we have not received the finger print fee, the correct amount, or a signed check or money order. The notice provided you with instructions to follow to submit the necessary payment. Please submit the required payment as soon as possible or we will not be able to resume processing of this case.

My question is... w/c of the 2 statement is correct? The NOA letter stating verify my personal information or the status online ?Do you have any suggestion or advice that I need to do?

any suggestion and advice are greatly appreciated!

I'm having the same problem right now too.

The received the case and sent me the NOA on September 15th, 2009 with the balance due for all the fees as $0, but then case status tells me they sent a fingerprint fee deficiency notice on September 15th, 2009.

It's been more than three weeks now since the date they said the sent this deficiency notice, and I've got nothing but the NOA stating I don't owe them anything, so I'm confused.

I've scheduled an Infopass for the 19th of October now to complain down at the office, for the Yakima office is much more helpful than USCIS' call centre.

Let's hope it goes well, if not, I'll buddy up to my local congressman.

How's the battle going with you?

On your NOA was your balance owing for fees listed as $0 too?

Have you been down to the office or called them yet?

(Think we should update eachother on this, as we are kinda in a very unique situation. :P)

Thanks dolamar for your response now I know that I am not alone here

Yah my NOA said my balance owing for fees listed was $0 too!

Most of the time USCIS are not reliable I'm sorry to say that but it is true, they accept our application w/ correct info and they will send it back w/ wrong info, they sent us the NOA, and the other dept will do the update online thats why its not tally, I know that the instruction that they sent to us (accdg to the status online) is the NOA that we received that's why until now we did not receive the instruction they said, Look at the date of your NOA and the date that you see in your CASE STATUS ONLINE its the same isn't it, so we dont have to expect to receive other letter or notice bec they sent it already.

And you know I read a post here before the same situation as ours, the member adviced her was ignore the update online and do whats in the letter or NOA that she received thats why I did not do anything right now!

just keep in touch!

Hey Guys, I am in the same situation, except it is 1.5 months later than your situations. Both $0-balance NOA in mail and fingerprint-fee-deficiency electronic notifications are dated as October 27. Actually the online notification was emailed 3 weeks later after October 27 but again with the same effective date of October 27. Before that the receipt number wasn't even in the database. As in your situation I never received the fingerprint-fee-deficiency notice in regular mail.

dolamar and arch and cel: How did your situation resolve and what actions (or none) did you take?

It seems to me it is one of the scenarios:

1) Either their "cutting-edge technology" website is screwed up again and automatically sends these fee deficiency notices to everyone, even one is waived from the fee because of the administrative error on their side. And we should just ignore this electronic status.

or

2) We should believe their electronic status and they decided there were no administrative error on their side. But why they ask only for the fingerprint fee (I guess it is the biometric fee of $80), not the whole thing $290+$80=$370? If one fee is waived then the other one is waived. Otherwise there is no logic in it. If they decided it is not the mistake then why we didn't receive the same think in regular mail? And why would they ask for the fingerprint fee if they have already done so just 1-2 months ago in my case and it is still good. Something tells me that the scenario 2 is unlikely.

At the same time I don't want my I90 be sitting there for eternity. What would you suggest.

Thanks!

Other thoughts: Once my gc was approved, I though the long journey and story is over. Now I feel like it is a soap opera which will never end. Sometimes I think it would be really nice if they subcontracted some for-profit company (thru tender) to run the whole processing thing. They make a lot of money in the fees and could really make the whole process very efficient.

It depends on the situation coz we have different cases. Like what happened to one member her, she received an email stating that her Card Production ordered and give them 30 days to process the card and mail...However, it passed over a month she made a follow-up coz she never received it, and they told her on phone to file again through I-90 and report it lost, which she did. 3 months after re-filing it (includes noa1 of bio sched for i-90), she received an email and also seen website update about her case that USCIS mailed her card. When she received it, it was the previous card that she waited too long...so her card was not sent at all within the 30 day period allowance based on online status but yet the 1-800 number advised to refile again and report it lost....it's very conflicting.....USCIS processing is a circus....
