My fiance was told by the bank that they can't state the total amount deposited in his account for the past year because - according to them - they can only go back as far as 6 months. He's gonna try and talk to someone in another branch to see what they can do. I figure the government wouldn't ask for a piece of income evidence if it's impossible to get it, but I'm worried.

Have you guys had the same problem? Please advise.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

This happens all the time - I was told the bank would have to actually pull copies of my paper montly balances and add it up by hand - something I could do myself if I had my monthly statement. So, my bank manager wrote a letter stating my balance in both my savings and checking and the date I opened each then I looked at my statements, added up my deposits over the year and wrote a letter stating the amounts. Then I COPIED all my statements as evidence. Some on here had done the same when they ran into this frequent problem. Our interview is next week and I'm just hoping that what i've done is ok.

Good luck!

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

My bank asked me to bring in my bank statements from the past 12 months. They used the statements to compute my deposits.

The bank manager said that they only have access to 3 months of information at the branch office. If I wanted to wait a few days they could get the 12 months of information for me from their main computer.

Aaaah, I see. So they can get the info from the computer, apparently. The thing is my fiance doesn't have the month statements because he does his banking online. Okay, I'm starting to feel good about it.

Thanks for the info.
