What I have read in the forums is that it usually takes 2 months , but I have seen some done in just over a month, depends on how busy and with what embassy.

Jerome

Jerome and all-

My got the NVC message stating that the "Case was completed on Oct. 2, 2009. Please wait 8 weeks for further instruction etc., etc..." I've read that CR/IR cases are typically scheduled during the second week of the month and as others have mentioned 1-2 months out. For CR/IR filers that already interviewed, how long did you have to wait between case complete and assignment? I'm sure it is different during seasons and with current case loads, but if you will, please amuse me and share  better yet tell me its only like a couple of days wait so I feel better :whistle:

ScottThuy posted the package 3 and 4 here:

From the sounds of it, its the same one everyone gets...so you should start putting together your stuff now--esp if you have to send it back to her in VN. One note: make sure everything foreign is translated, and notarized, if necessary.

How did you get the interview date??

If you got a letter, that is the same as the appointment letter...just take that with you and they'll let you in...

got package 4 on Monday thru email from HCM...the date on the bottom right hand corner is "April 2008".

Looks like the same info then...packet 4...

we did not see anything for a month since sending in package 3...so i email the consulate. They reply back with an interview date....

Here is the response...they might just send it out when this email was received...but we still have seen the letter...

The beneficiary is scheduled for a visa interview on November 17. Notification of this appointment has been sent to the beneficiary at the following address: xxxxxx. If the beneficiary has not received the appointment letter one week before the interview date, the beneficiary should come to our office to pick up another copy between 1:00 and 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except holidays. We attached the Appointment Package here for your reference. The beneficiary's case may be terminated if the beneficiary fails to pursue the application within one year of the interview appointment
