Hello.

I just received a RFE and stated that I need to take the HPV vaccine. It seems like it was my CS's fault for not asking to take it because I am under 26 yrs old. However, I have moved since then and I am in another city now; so can I find another CS locally to fill out the I693 form? or I have to go back to my original CS?

I just found out that I might have got the first shot of HPV in Jan 08, but I didn't finish the other two shots and I don't have any record. If I need to take the vaccine, do I start with the first shot again or I can start with the second? Are they the same? I mean the first shot and second shot.

Thanks a lot!!

I would think you could go to a different CS and get the shot and not have any problems. That is just opinion of course. The CS should be able to tell you what you should do in regards to whether you should start over, not knowing whether you have had the first one or not?

I took my wife to our family physician and he did the vaccinations, and then we used Dr. Arnold in Austin, TX to transcribe them.

The funny thing is our family physician acted suprised when I told him the HPV was a mandatory shot for immigration. My wife is 23. Our family doctor said if it wasn't for immigration purposes he would not administer the shot. He said it was not necessary and even questioned whether it served any purpose at all, considering her age. He told me it wouldn't hurt her to get it, but it probablly wouldn't serve any protection purposes either. I am not a doctor and am just going by what he said. Its not a cheap shot, so I am glad I have insurance. I guess we are all in the same situation of doing what ever USCIS requires us to do.

I went through the whole thing in Ireland and long story short the doctor told me that (under K-1 visa at least) you only have to get the first shot and after that it is what ever.... I would think it is the same for every type of visa and aos because look at it this way: You go to the cs and get shot ONE and he gives you the signed medical form which you send to uscis for aos. You don't get shot two for another month, so how could you put that on the medical form? You can't, the HPV is a worthless vaccine after the age of 16 or so and most doctors will tell you so, it is expensive and once you get infected it doesn't do any good (90% of females have it after the age of 16, although it doesn't cause any trouble most of the time). So no, you don't have to finish shots two and three, just number one so they can mark it off that you had the shot.
