Visiting AFTER recieving NOA2?

Hey guys.

We just got out NOA2 alot quicker than expected....and for that we're so thankful!

I (the beneficiary) have a trip booked for Oct 17 - Nov 21 to go and see Janet. I'd still love to go through with this planned trip and spend some time with her before the interview....and maybe get some of the paperwork done while i'm there.

Have any of you guys done this? Is there a problem in going through with my trip?

This gets asked a lot (daily usually) - the short answer is 'No, it doesn't affect the process and yes, people do it often with no problems' - you just need to be prepared. Obviously you don't want to miss things like the medical and/or the interview while you're away.

Ahhh thanks for that. I'd seen that page before but wasn't quite sure whether things changed considering the NOA2 had been given to us by the USCIS.

So i guess if traveling is still acceptable despite the NOA2 we'll go ahead with the original plan. Thanks Otto und Karin.

Yes I just did this. I flew to visit for 3 months over the summer. When the packet 3 arrived my parents told me and I sent the forms from the US. Even got my interview date while I was out there.

As for immigration I got pulled for further questioning and was 100% honest. Told I was in K1 process and had NOA2 and had all documents with me but was not asked to show it.

All was OK.
