Its no secret that I am. Its just a little different than you're implying. The only way I want that is that I be the King. A little different than establishmentarian.

Except in real terms you have about the same chance of becoming "King" as Charles Manson does.

Essentially you're supporting the rights of the establishment, based on the vague promise that you might one day aspire to their ranks. Not unlike kids who grow up wanting to be a rock star, except they eventually grow up.

Your lack of critical thinking is scary.

Not literally serious, but from what you said earlier it seems clear that you believe in trickle down economics, hence the idea that rich should somehow be exempt from taxation and that everyone should aspire to the position where they too are similarly exempt.

Talk about delusions of grandeur.

It's not that I lack substance, it's that you lack the capacity to understand it.

Joe doesn't do substance, if he did he wouldn't have need for the ham-handed stereotypes.

Aww the poor victims.

Anyway, I don't believe that the wealthy should be exempt from taxation. OF COURSE NOT. But a 50% tax is beyond ridiculous.

Are you sure Joe, are you really sure - I didn't think you accepted the idea that individuals had opinions?

Ok Pike - can you name a mainstream group who actually believes the wealthy should have 0 taxes? I'm not sure you can generalize with that one.

Taxing corporations and the rich will just be passed on to the consumer. Hence why cap-and-tax will just tax the !#$%^ out of everyone.

Corporations should pay a reasonable tax.

Anyone earning over $350K, should pay at least 47% tax. This is not a time for tax cuts for the well off.

Again, corporations don't pay any taxes no matter how you tax them. That tax is just passed on to the consumer with higher prices. Always has, always will.

Someone making that high of pay on a personal level, probably owns a company and if you tax them more, will also just pass on the cost to the consumer. No matter how you look at it, you're screwing everyday Joe's like myself.

the 350,000ers already pay 35% income taxes. Thats 122,500 of their income.

35% is a bloody joke. You say that but in countries where the average Joe is doing well, the rich are heavily taxed. That is the reality and you cannot have it both ways.

People at $150K should be paying the 35%, people at the $350K and up should be paying 47%. You think they cannot afford it? You think I couldn't afford to pay a bit extra tax to ensure Detroit does not look like Hiroshima the day after it was nuked? I don't know where you have traveled but I think you need to visit a place like Melbourne or Sydney, preferably Melbourne where GM, Toyota and Ford build cards. Then come tell me if you think paying higher taxes is worth it. Better yet, whether the average Joe is being screwed. The average Joe is now earning $52K in aus (Aus dollar went up again).

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Then why don't you stay there?

We have almost the highest corporate tax rate in the world, yet it does no good. You think taxing the rich another 12% is going to completely change the landscape of our economy? Please...
