I live in Lousiana (I think someone from here also said everything went fast)

The USCIS received our packed on July 13th. (I will update my signature later).

We received a few after the appointment for the biometrics. Done on August 17th.

I received my work authorization's card last week AND the same day the appointment for the interview, which will be October 8th!

I'm so nervous! But I read the reviews about New Orleans USCIS and they all are pretty good (even though I think people that have been rejected for any reasons don't really take time to post reviews ^^)

The biometrics went really well, but of course it was only biometrics... The person there was nice, I hope we'll have a nice one too at the interview...

I'll, of course, tell you everything about this interview. This forum has been a huge help and we couldn't have done all that without it. So whatever happens (who knows?) thank you all!

07-13-09 --> Application received by the USCIS

08-17-09 --> Biometrics appointment

09-11-09 --> EAD card received!

10-08-09 --> Interview... Approved!

I wonder if you'll be interviewed by the same guy who did our interview. He was nice but had to maintain his professional persona- there was also a young woman who sat in, I think she was new to the office.

I was more nervous than I should have been and babbled like an idiot. I forgot an insurance policy form at home and our joint health insurance card in the car- I didn't realize you were allowed to being a purse in. There was a slight problem with my medical (a mistake the Doctor in Canada made, the form was fixed but New Orleans had both the fixed copy and unfixed copy) so he told me to go for another medical, just the exam and not the X Ray, and drop the results to the office. A few months later I got an RFE because they wanted the TB skin test done- not sure why because I had a chest X Ray in Canada.

Anyway it all worked out well, our interview was 6 weeks before our 2nd anniversary and the RFE pushed us over the time so I ended up with the 10 year card. Nice!!

Can you tell me basically what they asked you there?

I hope i won't have any problems... The exam is pretty expensive, I hope they won't ask for another one. I did the TB test, tho, and everything they wanted. We'll see!

I think he started off by asking how we met and drew a few questions from there. He didn't actually ask us very many questions at all. We talked a while about the medical problem I had and how it was a pain at my K3 interview in Canada because the Consulate had to contact the Doctor to fax them the fixed form, he asked my husband about what he did for a living, he looked through a few photos, he took a few bank statement of our joint account (which is an account we rarely used- my husband usually just gave me his debit card if I needed anything)

That is all I can really recall. There were no strange or weird questions, it was more like a brief chat and watching him look through our forms and stuff.
