Isn't it illogical when you go on talking about how a theoretical God is so much smarter than anything that we can imagine, but then assume that you know that God didn't create the Earth and life in 6 days? Is God is smart enough to do all of that, why couldn't he do it in 6 days?

Well you are right. Which proves my point. Trying to explain the world or think about God using our limited knowledge and capacity is wrong. We know nothing about space / time. For all we know a super intelligent force like God could have frozen time or cut through it. Phew, that is ridiculous. well so was a cell phone, gravity, electricity and even the world being round once.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Is it evolution or devolution? In a span of less than 25 years seen some breeders breed German Shepherd dogs with shoulder heights of over 32", standard for a male is 25.5" and weights of close to 150 pounds where the standard is 85 pounds. This is done by selective breeding. Also in the last 150 years, over a hundred new types of dogs have been selectively bred and recognized by the AKC. The 180-pound English Mastiff and the two-pound Chihuahuaare both members of Canis lupus familiaris species.

We also know this for a fact, if two idiots get married and have kids, their kids will be dumber than either parent.

I don't believe in evolution, but sure believe in devolution. Have enough idiots running around as proof of that.

*Sigh* All science does is find patterns in things.

It doesn't make sense for space/time as well as all the natural, observable laws of physics, chemistry and biology to exist if all they are is some sort of silly distraction thrown out there by God. Indeed if you discount those things then all you have left is illogical magic.

Its always been quite simple (in the modern age)-

theology is theology, science is science.

You don't need to be a follower of either to have sufficient logic intact to tell both apart.

That is exactly right. Both have their place in a society and should be kept apart.

I am a Christian but am also heavily into science, engineering and the pursuit of knowledge. As are many of my cousins that if I posted their names, I guarantee you would amazed to realize what discoveries they are known for in the science community; yet are extremely religious people.

Are they published? I may have some of their work-I follow new publications and innovative scientists avidly. genuine question.

Liefde is een bloem zo teer dat hij knakt bij de minste aanraking en zo sterk dat niets zijn groei in de weg staat

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Well it's interesting that people have no qualms with talking about the genes of certain people that lead to better athletic and entertainment based abilities, however, absolutely refuse to connect (or accept) a possible innate negative associated with genes. Nope cannot be that. Must be history; must be oppression; must be... must be... Sorry, you cannot have it both ways. Either you deny it all or you accept the good with the bad.

That is one of the biggest objections I have to the idea of 'miracles'. Either the world is governed by immutable rules which we can observe and predict outcomes (which help us solve problems), or it is not and there is chaos. I don't see how the two can coexist logically.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Yes. One of my cousin's research in stem cell is renowned and she is at church every week. Nicest person you will ever met.

Are these the same relatives with the World Class martial arts skills?

I have two contrasting types of family members.

That was a given. Either you accept the reality of genes, of evolution, or you do not.

Well I think you can certainly accept the moral teachings of religion, but asking a modern audience to accept the resurrection (or that Jesus pulled loaves and fishes out of a hat) at face value is a very tough sell imo.
