Hello friends,

I have a question regarding my wife's petition. I am currently unemployed, but had a decent job last year.

With I-864 form, I am sending my tax returns for last three year (income was $78,000 for each year). I am also using my balance ($55K in bank) as assets as I am currently unemployed. I have $30K loan on one of my credit cards (the money is in the bank because I took advantage of a nice balance transfer offer). The question is, should I show 25K out of 55K that I have in the bank and arrange for a co-sponsor. Or is it okay to put 55K on the form which will satisfy the 3 times the 125% of poverty guidelines for spouse?

(I will be keeping this money for the next 8 months in my account. And I do expect to find a job within this time period [even in this economy])

Thank you for your assistance.
