Hi,

My dad is going to be my co-sponsor. I am on his last year's tax return as a dependent, does he still put me on his 1-135 form or does he leave me off of it? The only people in the home are me and my mom and him. He filed joint taxes with her. His is on disability and He makes 51,000 a year from that. Is that enough above the poverty line? He also has property worth 428,000. Do i need more evidence than those two things? Also, if he is on disablility, is that all he puts on the employment for type of business?

Also, with the address, do you put the physical address or the po box if that is where you get your mail?

Thank you!

There is a very similar thread running right now in this forum with lots of good discussion on this matter that answers your questions for the most part. You use physical address, not PO box, they will not be mailing you anything. His income sounds like plenty, and yes, it is what he lists. He will not have to list assets with the income you mention so leave that blank. He should attach documentation of his disablitiy payment...award letter from SS and/or recent pay records.
