Update on the Drivers License Saga

I went into the DMV today with the ID requirement document that payxibka kindly found for me. We had a bit of trouble initially because I couldn't find my old temporary permit. They looked up my social security number, but I didn't show up on the system. The lady that helped us eventually got to speak to a real person at the Department of Revenue who said they would give me another 60 day temporary drivers permit and they would confirm I was adjusting my status with immigration and send me out a proper license. We waited around for around 15 minutes for my temporary permit to be faxed to the office. When it got there, not only had they spelled my name wrong, but they said they would not issue me a proper license! So it turns out that until I actually get a green card in my hands, I will have to go in every 60 days and get a new temporary driving permit. I am so frustrated. I never realized moving to America would be fraught with this much stupidity and bureaucracy!

And you wonder why we are the only industrialized country without universal health care?????? No level of our government can find their @ss with both hands, you do not want them doing anything for you if you can avoid it.
