Could someone please tell me how far back are Lagos Interview Dates? Why is there a delay? Any information is appreciated. I am trying to find out what is going on for someone else. There case was completed with NVC as of March 2006. Now it is July 2006. NVC Customer Service is giving the same generic answer,,"We are waiting on Lagos." There has got to be someone out there at NVC that knows about the hold up and were are they at scheduling interviews. This makes no sense. Its not fair for people to have to wait to be reunited with their love one. When other Embassies are scheduling interview within a month after completion dates with NVC. I feel sympathy for those who are out there waiting. There's so much feelings of uncertainty during the visa process. Not knowing if the visa will get approved. Waiting and Waiting and Waiting.

I wish you all the best during this stressful process. At this point, I can't say I fully understand how everyone feels out here because my process went through very quickly. But I will say this it was extremely ruff, and I can only imagine how those who have been waiting months just to get scheduled an interview and are still waiting feel. This makes me very upset and I don't think it is fair. :(

I know it doesnt make any sense the wait. Our case has been completed since Jan. of this year and each month they tell me they are waiting on Lagos. What a bunch of #######. It has upset me also but I just say god has a reason why its taking so long. But I say lord why so long, come on I miss my hubby so much. But I know he will be here soon.

I see your case was completed and the interview within a year. How god worked in your favor. That was really quick.

Sorry to hear that Lagos has once again fallen into the delay slump. :( Well, our case completed in Aug. 2005 and the interview wasn't sceduled until 4 months later.

Someone here at VJ suggested that the K visas were processed at a faster rate and in abundance due to the fact that the embassy generates $100/application... If this is the case, then there is not much time being dedicated to processing CR-1's. I remeber after our case completed, I would call DOS & NVC frequently to find out whether or not we had been scheduled. Then I wondered if Lagos simply wasn't faxing the NVC any available interview slots??? Who knows.... It is really ridiculous because no one seems to have a concrete answer, and you are left to hang in limbo.

Anyway, I hope your friend gets some good news pretty soon. ;)

Lagos embassy says they have a high volume of applicants hence the delay but it doesn't make much sense that it seems they must be scheduling only a handful. As of right now the wait to get an interview is about 8-9 months. There is a november and december person that is yet to be scheduled. I really hope they speed things up cos its driving us crazy

Neya,

The previous posts are regarding CR-1 visas. That is the I-130 visa (aka green card). K-1 and K-3 visas seem to get interviews about three months after the NOA2. Even in Lagos.

For proof of relationship, evidence u can take if applicable would include e-mails, text message records, proof of travel(tickets, boarding pass etc), lots of pictures of wedding/other pics with family/friends, money transfers, phone records(real important), correspondence between u and his family. I'm sure others can add to this if i missed anything.

i was at lagos embassy yesterday and it will be a tough one for pople waiting because of the visa lottery. all are immigrants visas. so anything case that comes in is given minimum 3 months before the interview, but never wait for them to send your packet three for u. go there and pick it up. send and email to the lagos embassy quoting ur case number and they will give your date. saw a woman yesterday that her interview was yesterday and she came yestrday to make enquiries.

Just to clarify. It is the I-130/CR-1/IR-1 that is taking the long time 8-9months as NVC schedules those interviews per slots given by lagos. For K-3/k-1, when ur petition gets to the embassy you can go pick up your packet and your interview will be in about 3-5months from the day that you pick up ur packets

This is very upsetting. Our I130 completed 7/18/06. i am about to fall off the sanity wagon thinking i have 8 - 9 months of this torture. Dear God let there be a quick end to this for us all. Lagos please have mercy.

Every day is one day closer to the end of my visa journey.
