I applied for citizenship back in April, went for biometrics at the beginning of May and am still waiting for the interview letter. I called USCIS today and was told that I haven't been scheduled for an interview yet and am still waiting for the security check to clear. It seems a long time to wait for the name check to clear.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Seems long to me also. Friend of mine just did the whole trip in 1 1/2 months.

I'd call my senator and have his immigration specialist check on it1

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I wonder about this security check, when I go to a new bank to open an account or to by a firearm, they tell me they have to run a security check. Get on some website to see if my name is on some FBI list, takes a couple of seconds, and am okay if my name is not on that list. I only got a quick glance at the screen, just saw a list of names. Thought my name was unique but found three other guys that copied my name, middle initial is different, one in the USA and two in Italy, thinking I should contact them and tell them to be good or all four of us will be in big trouble.

I have no idea how this system works, is it just the name they go by? What about the birth date, address or other pertinent information? A photo? What about a very common name? I did learn the IRS knows more about me than I know about myself, they have access to everything about me, home, vehicles, credit card statements, bank accounts, arrest and court records, you name it, they have it. Thinking about building an all glass house so everybody can see everything about me. With all this barcode stuff and itemized receipts, not hard to learn how much toilet paper I buy. After my accident, my complete medical history is in public records from filing an insurance claim, but yet receive all this privacy notice stuff. Privacy is BS.
